Central Saanich BC is a municipality that is proud to recognize its heritage. Located on the Saanich Peninsula between Saanich and North Saanich; with the Pat Bay Highway being the main route running the length of the Saanich Peninsula . Central Saanich plays host to various hobby farms and vineyards along with increasing residential, commercial and industrial development.
Agriculture is the most extensive land use activity with pockets of housing ranging from hobby farms to townhouses dispersed throughout. The necessary services are provided through two core commercial areas in Brentwood Bay and Saanichton; supported nicely by the Keating X Road industrial/commercial area.
The overriding philosophy of the community is to retain the current rural character and agricultural land base. Hoping to provide slow, long-term growth where it will have the least impact on the agricultural lands and the environment.
Central Saanich BC has its own police force and Fire Department. Garbage collection is done on a private basis.
One of the most fascinating points of interest is the beautiful views of the Saanich Inlet to the west, and the Haro Strait to the east. With these two wonderful views, a person cannot imagine the wondrous beauty they’ll be able to take advantage of once a decision has been made to live in this beautiful area. In addition, you’ll be between two larger metropolitan cities which will give you the advantage of choosing this location in order to commute back and forth. So, regardless of your reasons, you’ll find that this is an area that will provide all that is needed when it comes to making a relocation choice.
If you enjoy the outdoor activities; John Dean Provincial Park is to the north and the Gowlland Tod Provincial Park is just southwest. These will provide excellent choices when it comes to walking your dog, jogging, hiking, picnics, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
Heritage Acres, the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society, The Saanich Pioneers Museum, Butchart Gardens, Butterfly Gardens, BC Ferry run to Mill Bay.
